The article here may sound informative to you, but the main purpose of this blog is improve my writing skills. I am a person born and brought up in totally rural mileau. So, I have thought of this exercise to take my writing skiils to the level which is expected from a person with an IQ of more than 135 ( calculated on the basis of 4 different IQ tests available on internet, every test gave me 135 +) Today I read about the al-Qaida's top leader Kashmiri getting killed in a drone attack in Pakistan's south waziristan. Two unusual question came to my mind after reading this article. Why the a- the first letter of al-Qaida is in small letters whereas Q is in capital letters. And, where exactly is Waziristan located in Pakistan.
This led me to a website, which proved my quest wrothwhile.

Answer to the question regarding al-Qaida was hidden in the meaning of its name. al-Qaida stands for "the base" or "the foundation" , al meaning "the" here. So, now it seems proper to spell it "the Base" with t being in small letters and B being in capital letters. Cheerio!!!
